Padel is more than just a game
It’s one of the fastest growing sporting communities in the world and played in over 130 countries by nearly 40 million people. Celebrities and sports professionals from David Beckham, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo to Antonio Banderas all regularly playing.
Easy to learn but hard to master, Padel is loosely described as a combination of tennis and squash. With a court that’s a third the size of a tennis court it retains the fun aspects of the game without the physical demands that prevent many from taking up tennis.
It favours teamwork and court positioning over power and endurance as shots can be returned off the glass walls that surround the court. As a result padel offers the chance of longer rallies at a lower intensity than tennis making the experience more fun for everyone involved.
A standardised rating system makes sure players are matched based on their skill level, and as games are mostly played in doubles, Padel is a highly social and accessible community of all ages and ability.
About us
1066 Padel Club was founded by Tim and Paul, two brothers born and raised right here in Hastings.
We’ve long shared a vision to build a community hub that contributes positively to the social, physical, and mental wellbeing of everyone in our town. When we started playing padel, we knew we’d found the perfect way to make our vision a reality.
Having played socially and competitively with players of all ages we quickly realised the many benefits of padel on social inclusion and physical and mental health.Whether you’re looking for a competitive edge or friendly, social play, Padel ticks every box.
We want to give back to the town we grew up in by bringing a vibrant, world-class sport to Hastings to help revitalise our local parks and social spaces. We think that it’s vital to create communities using local roots that contribute back to the local area.
